KBi Digital is the outcome, firstly, of a public partnership that was formalised by means of an agreement between Bilbao City Council and Bizkaia Provincial Council through Bilbao Ekintza, EPEL and Beaz, SAU, their publicly-owned companies, with the aim of being the driving force behind KBI Digital Bilbao Bizkaia, an advanced incubator for digital entrepreneurship projects.
Three private companies that behind the setting up of KBI Digital, namely BBVA, Dominion and Euskaltel, have signed up to this public partnership. They have entered into an undertaking to set up and drive this incubator for a minimum period of three years.
After KBI Digital had been set up by the above entities, A Digital (Spanish Association of Digital Companies) and Gaia (Basque Cluster of Information and Technology Industries) signed up to the project and partnership agreements were entered into for both associations to implement activities in the KBI.
KBI Digital is open to working with other public and private entities and companies.
